The end of the 2026 season is fast approaching. Four races are scheduled, with two more in doubt. That uncertainty could become another problem for Ferrari, particularly if the tensions between Leclerc and Hamilton continue for longer than they should. In an ideal world, the fire ignited in Mexico should have been extinguished, but we know that may not be the case.

A firm hand is needed with the drivers

The comments made by the drivers during today’s media day are only an indication. Unfortunately, only Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc know what is going on in their minds.

In this situation, unless team principal Frédéric Vasseur takes a firm hand, we can safely expect the episode to be repeated soon at another of the final rounds of the championship.

Ferrari, Hamilton, Leclerc

This is an area in which the manager cannot afford distractions. Setting aside the differing views the drivers may hold over the course of the year, such things can happen. At this delicate stage of the championship, however, the manager of the Prancing Horse cannot afford any further missteps.

A crystal ball balanced on a strand of wool

The season is nearing its end and there is not even any certainty that there will be another four rounds before the end of the year. The championship could conclude in Las Vegas, and Ferrari must absolutely avoid 2026 ending without the drivers having cleared the air on track. That is why Vasseur is the first person who cannot afford distractions. Since Mexico, the atmosphere at Ferrari has been like a crystal ball precariously balanced on a strand of wool. It would take only a moment for it to fall.
