Biography of F1 driver Antonelli Andrea Kimi

Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Bologna, 25 August 2006) is an Italian racing driver, twice European champion of Kart CIK FIA OK in 2020 and 2021. Its curious name suggests a tribute to Kimi Raikkonen, F1 champion in 2007 with Ferrari, a hypothesis denied by the same Antonelli, who has admitted several times that there is no reference to Iceman.

Since 2019 he is a member of the Mercedes Junior Team. In 2022 the Prema team decides to hire him to compete in Formula 4, winning in addition to the Italian series also the ADAC Formula 4. The following season will see two other important successes: the first in the Middle East regional Formula and the second in the European, before the transition to Formula 2 in 2024 again with Prema. The Italian driver is distinguished by his great talent, speed and ability in wet conditions, which led him to a great victory in the Sprint Race at Silverstone in F2.

During the weekend of the Monza GP, he will be on track in PL1 with Mercedes, where he will be announced as a Formula 1 driver for the 2025 season, joining George Russell. The number he will compete with is 12, bringing back the number of the timeless Ayrton Senna.
