By: Good evening, everyone, and welcome to Formula1.it. We have reached third practice for the Mexico City GP. Yesterday’s opening session was highly chaotic due to the presence of 11 rookies on track. Mercedes and McLaren, as well as potentially Red Bull, looked very strong on race pace.
Ferrari have been strong in qualifying trim so far. The pace with high fuel loads is there, but Leclerc’s SF-26 showed tyre degradation that was not evident on the McLaren or the Mercedes. Ferrari had work to do. FP3 will tell us whether they have made the right steps ahead of qualifying.
Before we begin commenting on FP3, let’s take a look at the Pirelli compounds available for the Mexico City GP: the Hard C3, Medium C4 and Soft C5 will be available, the softest combination in the range (photo: Pirelli graphic).
