By: Good morning to all Formula1.it readers. We have already reached the second free practice session of the weekend. Azerbaijan is ready to deliver surprises over the coming days. Meanwhile, higher temperatures than in previous seasons could significantly disrupt the teams' plans. This was evident in FP1, where we saw drivers adopt several different tyre strategies. Most opted for long runs on the Hard C3 and Soft C5, while others, including Ferrari, focused more on the Medium and Soft compounds.
The Hard C3 could prove to be a very consistent race tyre. Verstappen was already very quick on this compound in race-pace simulations, both compared with Mercedes, which ran on Softs, and Leclerc, who instead sought to understand his pace on Mediums. The race-pace simulations will continue in FP2, so all that remains is to wait for the session to unfold and try to understand what may happen on Saturday.
