In his first year at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton is showing a side of himself that we didn't know. A somewhat clumsy and, in our opinion, also rather inconvenient trend, which we never expected from him.
Hamilton has never been identified as the most pious driver in the world. He too committed his pranks during his long career. All the riders who fought for the world championship have their dark sides, some more and some less. However, especially this year, in his first season at the wheel of Ferrari, he is standing out for his behavior, in our opinion, botched, which is not suitable for an expert driver like him.
Hamilton's botched side
The Briton is making too many mistakes that violate the basics of the sporting code. Among many, we cannot fail to mention the failure to respect the double yellow flags during the pre-GP verification laps (those used to familiarize oneself with the track before handing the car over to the mechanics on the grid) in Zandvoort. A botched behavior, certainly unintentional, but still contrary to the rules set by the FIA and very inappropriate. The inattention (if we want to call it that) cost him five positions on the grid, which were then discounted in Monza.

In the opening stages of the Mexican GP, he was the protagonist of another lightness, which earned him a 10-second penalty to be served in the pits before the pit stop. Hamilton went wide in Turn 4 and re-entered the track ignoring the FIA-designated lane to ensure a safe return with no advantages over his rivals.
The surprising thing is that these are elementary rules, such as not exceeding the speed limit in the pits. But that is another story (hopefully Sainz will forgive us for the excursus). It is known that breaking these rules carries penalties, often even heavy ones.
Seeing a driver of Lewis Hamilton's caliber commit such distractions is truly bizarre. The difficulties experienced at Ferrari during this season could be playing a bad joke on him.
