By: Good evening to all our friends at Formula1.it. The weekend is beginning to come alive: the second practice session is generally the most representative in preparation for the weekend. Teams can test the track in both qualifying and race conditions, making it particularly indicative for both simulations.
In FP1, Ferrari looked particularly strong and, given the substantial upgrade package introduced at Austin, that was far from a foregone conclusion. Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes also appeared competitive, with the papaya team and the Stuttgart marque seemingly keeping their cards close to their chest. We will see whether they reveal a little more in second practice.
