By: Good morning to all our Formula1.it readers. It is late afternoon in Singapore. We will watch a Sprint Race in which the artificial lights will gradually replace the daylight. On a street circuit, the short race should unfold relatively smoothly, although there are factors that could influence its course. One of them is tyre management. The Soft C5 and Medium C4 are both expected to play a key role today. Today’s choice will above all be dictated by a broader strategic plan, which will have a tangible impact on tomorrow’s race.
Verstappen starts from pole, followed by Russell, Leclerc and Piastri. The presence of four drivers from four different teams in the top four says a great deal about the strength of the teams and just how close Sprint Qualifying was. There is a short run to the first corner and, should there be overtakes, they will at least on paper be largely dictated by any tyre compound differences. But we shall see.
