By: Good morning to all our friends at Formula 1.it. The weekend is moving very quickly and, despite it only being Friday, it is already qualifying day for us and for Formula 1 here in Baku. Mercedes, Red Bull and McLaren have all performed very well in practice. Antonelli and Russell look to be in very good form so far and, above all, appear to have something extra.
Verstappen, meanwhile, is close behind and, from what we have seen in race-pace running, could once again be a threat not only in qualifying but also in the race (click here for the long-run simulations). McLaren has kept a low profile, as always, but the car has emerged as a very solid package despite it only being practice. Today it will reveal its full potential and we will see where it stands. Ferrari, on the other hand, is struggling significantly on the long straight, something it will inevitably have to contend with.
Before turning our attention to the FP3 live coverage, let us take a look at the Pirelli tyre allocations for the Azerbaijan GP: Hard C3, Medium C4 and Soft C5 compounds will be available, the middle combination in the range (photo: Pirelli graphic).
