F1, Vicky Piria non ha dubbi: «La Ferrari 2026 è 'diversa'. Antonelli? Felice per lui»
Time for reading: 3 minutes

Always at the track, whether behind the wheel of a racing car or in front of a camera: the roles may change, but one great passion for motorsport and speed remains. This is Vittoria "Vicky" Piria, a driver who has fulfilled her dream of making the world of motorsport her life, both as a racer and as a television personality on Sky Sport F1’s motorsport team, which she has been part of since 2024.

An adventure in which, since her debut, she has partnered Davide Camicioli, entering Italian homes to cover the Formula 1 world championship and bringing her technical expertise, as well as her essence as a versatile, enthusiastic and energetic young woman. In her hectic life, she found the time to grant this writer an exclusive interview, discussing current affairs and offering her thoughts on the 2026 F1 season.

Kimi first and foremost

When discussing the 2026 championship, it is effectively impossible not to talk about Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the young driver from Bologna who is sweeping aside his rivals and achieving great things with Mercedes, to the point of leading the world championship and being on course for an exciting title fight. A driver whom the Sky presenter has known well for years, and for whom she said she was genuinely delighted.

"I have to say that I’m very happy with Kimi Antonelli’s current moment, with everything he is experiencing: it is great for him, but also for me. I have watched him grow up, I have known his family very well for many years and so yes, I’m very, very happy for him and for how well he is doing."

And on Ferrari...

Staying with Italy, Vicky then commented on Ferrari, who, after a dreadful 2025, have returned to winning ways and sit second in the constructors’ standings. A leap forward that shows a change of pace compared with the past, although perhaps not yet enough to return to the top.

"I would rate Ferrari’s start to the season positively. We will have to see how good they are at keeping up with the others when the upgrades arrive. So far, this has been a Ferrari weakness: they take small steps while others perhaps take bigger ones. But this year, the situation does seem to be different. I hope they can do well; it would be good for the spectacle."
