A rudderless ship
Time for reading: 3 minutes

There would be a lot to say about Ferrari's disastrous weekend in Qatar. However, the SF-25's performance was so unmentionable that we decided not to comment on it at all. Why do it? For what purpose? Now that unfortunately, or perhaps it would be appropriate to say, fortunately the season is about to end. Soon the page will turn and a new chapter will begin for everyone. For Leclerc, for Hamilton, for Vasseur and for all the men and women of Maranello.

But what will this new chapter be like? Are we sure it will be better than what's about to end? No, unfortunately we are not. From pure and simple outside observers, like us, Ferrari, at this moment, appears as a rudderless ship, at the mercy of the waves, at the mercy of itself.

A sad image

The president is, and is a fact, little present. He rarely follows the team onto the track and his statements risk damaging rather than benefiting the entire environment. Since Elkann is often too out of place, one would expect the team principal to at least try to maintain a straight line, putting order, perhaps and above all, through linear and objective statements.

Leclerc, GP Qatar

Instead, every weekend there is always something new. It always happens. Suddenly the team collides with the drivers, Leclerc and Hamilton are unfairly attacked, then they are blamed for faults they do not have and finally they are surprised if Charles and Lewis lose patience and begin to react to the attacks against them, returning against the team.

Unfortunately, it's not a nice Ferrari we're looking at right now. The picture seen in Qatar portrays a situation that is not only delicate, but certainly very sad and not very reassuring for the future. It describes a scenario we never dreamed of commenting on at the end of 2024, with the italian team battling for the constructors' championship against McLaren. A climate of deep sadness is spreading around Maranello and its fans. Sometimes miracles can happen, but now there's no time for those either, and honestly, seeing a team in this situation makes you stop believing in them too.
