The 2025 Formula 1 championship was enriched by a large presence of rookies. Antonelli, Hadjar, Bortoleto, Doohan, Bearman, Colapinto and Lawson are about to conclude their first (almost entire) season at the Circus (Franco and Liam had already competed in 2024, but for them it can be considered the first year in which they performed consistently).
We are obviously eager to see who among these talents will be able to get their first recognition in careers like ‘Rookie of the Year’. At the start of the season we quickly dropped Doohan and Colapinto from the race. In the European stages we then shelved Antonelli. The Italian has recovered a lot, but he has gone through a very difficult period in Europe and, considering that he drives a Mercedes, he should have done more, according to the author. At the moment it deserves more than enough overall evaluation, given its recent performance, but it may not be enough.
Rookie of the Year 2025, the final battle
It's not enough given what Hadjar in Racing Bulls and Bearman in Haas are doing. Bortoleto had a good half of the season, but Isack and Oliver certainly showed something more. Hadjar managed to climb to the third step of the podium in Netherlands, and is currently ninth in the drivers' standings, behind Albon, with 51 points, but at the helm of the Racing Bulls, credited as the sixth force in the championship. Furthermore, despite being the team leader, he is beating Liam Lawson, another rookie this season.

Bearman, on the other hand, found himself behind the wheel of Haas, a team that had certainly not come out of a good run, having to put together the goal of helping the team increase its performance and that of not looking too badly at his more experienced teammate Esteban Ocon. Oliver had a few races’, but from the Dutch GP (where he finished sixth) to today he has amassed an impressive run of points (1 fourth place in Mexico and two P6s) which now allow him to be in 12° overall with 41 points and ahead of Ocon with a 9-point lead.
Bearman appears to be leading the pack for the season finale, although Isack cannot be completely excluded from the match given the results achieved (a podium is still a podium). The British driver's trend tells us that he can do well in the last two races too. Being just 10 points behind Hadjar, the Ferrari Academy driver will certainly try to overtake him, and beating him, at this point, would surely be the icing on an already delicious cake.
