Christijan Albers was born on 16 April 1979 in Eindhoven (Netherlands). After a long and solid education in European junior formulae, he built the most relevant part of his career in touring car racing and single-seaters.
Between the late 1990s and early 2000s he stood out in Formula 3 and especially in the DTM, where he raced regularly with Mercedes, achieving victories and establishing himself as one of the most competitive drivers in the German championship.
His Formula 1 debut came in 2005 with Minardi, with whom he contested the entire season. In 2006 he moved to Midland, later Spyker, remaining on the grid until the first part of 2007. His F1 career unfolded during difficult years for backmarker teams, without realistic opportunities for notable results.
After leaving Formula 1, Albers continued his career in endurance racing, taking part in international long-distance events, including appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After retiring from competition, he remained involved in the paddock as a manager and sporting executive, also holding positions of responsibility within professional teams.
