Website: www.zsolt.baumgartner.hu

Zsolt Baumgartner was born on 1 January 1981 in Budapest (Hungary). After starting in karting, he built his career in European junior formulae, competing in Formula Opel, Formula 3 and Formula 3000, without achieving sustained top-level results.

His Formula 1 debut came in 2003 with Jordan, when he was called up to replace Ralph Firman for two Grands Prix at the end of the season. In 2004 he became a full-time Minardi race driver, contesting the entire championship in one of the most difficult seasons for the historic Faenza-based team.

The most significant moment of his Formula 1 career came at the 2004 United States Grand Prix, which he finished in eighth place, becoming the first Hungarian driver to score points in Formula 1.

At the end of the 2004 season he left Formula 1 and gradually stepped away from top-level racing. He later focused on entrepreneurial initiatives linked to motorsport and the automotive sector in Hungary, remaining a historically significant figure for his country within the top category.
