Biography of F1 driver Sargeant Logan

Logan Sargeant (born on 31 December 2000 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is an American racing driver who competed in Formula 1 with Williams between 2023 and 2024, after a long development path through European categories.

In karting he quickly built a top-level profile: in 2015 he won the CIK-FIA World Championship (junior category), a result that led him to single-seaters. Between 2016 and 2017 he contested F4 UAE with Team Motopark (2nd overall in the 2016-17 season) and in 2017 raced in British F4 with Carlin, achieving wins and finishing 3rd in the championship. In 2018 he stepped up to the Formula Renault Eurocup with R-ace GP, collecting successes and confirming competitiveness close to the top drivers.

Entry into FIA championships came in FIA Formula 3: after a difficult first season in 2019, in 2020 with Prema Racing he finished 3rd in the championship with two victories, then continued in 2021 with Charouz Racing System. The move to FIA Formula 2 arrived in 2022 with Carlin: he claimed two victories and finished 4th overall, completing the path towards the superlicence and the Formula 1 opportunity.

In 2023 he debuted in the World Championship with Williams, becoming the first full-time American F1 driver in several years; his only world championship point came with 10th place at the 2023 United States Grand Prix. Confirmed for 2024 as well, he was replaced mid-season: Williams announced in August 2024 the promotion of Franco Colapinto for the remainder of the championship, starting from the Italian Grand Prix.

After leaving F1, in 2025 he returned to prototype racing, contesting the final rounds of the IMSA season in the LMP2 class with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. Looking towards 2026, there is no officially confirmed programme: the most recent public information describes him as evaluating several options, including GT machinery, without a definitive announcement.

Privately he grew up between Florida and Europe during his karting and junior formula years, maintaining a generally reserved media profile compared to his on-track activity.
