Over the weekend in Abu Dhabi, the last of the 2025 Formula One World Championship season, we noticed sanctions among the various FIA documents that piqued our curiosity. Strong inconsistencies, we dare say. The moment they were issued, we snubbed them a little’, we have to tell the truth, but then when situations arose on Saturday that forced the commissioners to intervene again, they left us stunned to say the least.

Yes because the Federation rightly carries on the battles. One above all, safety on the track. Apply the speed limit in the pit lane, severely punish unsafe releases and even impediments.

€25,000 fines for missing a fan meeting

What caught our attention, however, was the sanction the FIA handed over to Aston Martin. Alonso and Stroll did not participate in the fan engagement activity on Friday and, for this lack, the Federation fined the team 25,000 euros each. A total of 50,000 Euros for not attending a meeting with fans.

€10,000 fine for causing pit lane accident

Fines that in our opinion are completely incompatible with those imposed on Antonelli and Tsunoda on Saturday. Mercedes only received a fine of €10,000 for the unsafe release that triggered the pit lane incident between Kimi and Yuki during the PL3s (a contact that also caused damage to the Red Bull floor).

The Milton Keynes team were instead fined €10,000 for obstructing Norris during PL3. So much? Little? How can you be objective if they are then awarded €25,000 to someone who skips a fan meeting?

Obviously it's always a question of priorities and for us they should be reviewed a bit’.
