Ever since production of the series ‘Drive To Survive’ began, Netflix has been accused of editing fake scenes to enhance the show.
Drive To Survive, a producer responds to the accusations
Interviewed by Matthew Gallagher and Tom Bellingham of ‘P1 with Matt & Tommy’, co-executive producer Tom Rogers had this to say about the matter: "I think it's a shame that people are writing off the series because of that".
"Are there mistakes in Drive To Survive? Absolutely, there are plenty. It is the most complicated show to make, even if other people might not see it that way".
"There are about 160 people working on it, even at Christmas, and it's very difficult to get to the finish line [the release date, ed]".
"The truth is that we have to remember why we make it: not as ‘highlights’ of the season, not as an in-depth analysis in detail, it's to reach a wide audience and to show the human side of Formula 1".
"Even if purists may not like something, there are still moments that everyone - in my opinion - can find interesting or informative’, said Rogers in the end.
