Toranosuke Takagi (born on 12 February 1974 in Shizuoka, Japan) is a former Japanese racing driver who contested a few seasons in Formula 1 at the end of the 1990s.
After karting, Takagi built his career almost entirely in Japan, where he achieved notable results by winning the Formula Nippon championship in 1997 and establishing himself as one of the best national talents of the era. These successes earned him the attention of Formula 1 teams.
He made his Formula 1 debut in 1998 with Tyrrell, in a difficult season for the historic British team, already in decline. In 1999 he moved to Arrows, but again the technical context strongly limited his chances of results. He concluded his Formula 1 experience without scoring world championship points.
After leaving the Circus, Takagi returned permanently to Japan, where he continued his career in national competitions, particularly in Super GT and touring car racing, achieving class victories and long competitive continuity.
After ending his professional driving career, he remained connected to Japanese motorsport in support and development roles. The last verifiable activity places him as an internal figure within national sporting programmes, far from the Formula 1 paddock.
