Ferrari, learning to wait
In Formula 1, talking about patience seems like a contradiction. Yet now it is fundamental. After two races the season is not already decided and Ferrari still has time to grow. There is a lot to work on, but the future is all to be written about.

Time for reading: 2 minutes

Patience. A word that seems foreign to the world of Formula 1. A world that does not wait, that moves fast, that burns judgements with the same speed with which cars whiz in the straight. A world that demands results and demands them immediately. In which two races are enough to go from enthusiasm to anxiety, from hope to frustration. Yet, never before, a deep breath would be needed.

When a new season begins, patience is essential. The first weekend does not define the rest of the Championship, on the contrary. The season is long, unpredictable, made of ups and downs that often overturn hierarchies already given as carved in stone.

We often forget about this and, following the breathless rhythms of this sport, we launch ourselves into hasty judgements. Taken by the ferry of passion, we find ourselves shouting at a Championship already won or, more often, at an epochal defeat already after the first weekends.

It's the ghosts of the past knocking on the door. That fear, difficult to chase away, of seeing a Ferrari not up to par again. To suffer again. And so it takes little, to talk - already in March - about a compromised Championship.

But the truth is that in a Formula 1 that runs fast, you have to know how to wait. Sure, there's still a lot to work on, but the season has just begun. There's still a lot to write. And if there's one lesson that Formula 1 has taught us, it's that the most beautiful stories are those that start uphill.
