Jerome d’Ambrosio is a Belgian motorsport executive and former racing driver, born on 27 December 1985 in Etterbeek, Brussels. Raised in a family of Italian origin, he began his motorsport career through karting, in which he quickly distinguished himself at national and international level.

Between 1999 and 2002 he won three Belgian national titles, the Junior Monaco Kart Cup in 2000 and the Formula A World Cup in 2002. His move to single-seaters came in 2003, when he won the Belgian Formula Renault 1.6 Championship with Thierry Boutsen Racing. In the following years he competed in numerous development series, including Formula Renault 2.0, World Series by Renault and Euroseries 3000.

His first major international title arrived in 2007 with victory in the International Formula Master. From 2008 he raced in GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series with DAMS, finishing the 2008-2009 GP2 Asia season as runner-up. These results allowed him to enter the Formula 1 environment.

In 2010 he was appointed reserve driver for Renault F1 Team, while in 2011 he made his Formula 1 debut as a race driver with Marussia Virgin Racing, contesting the full season. In 2012 he served as third driver for Lotus F1 Team and took part in the Italian Grand Prix as a replacement for Romain Grosjean, achieving his best career result with 13th place.

After Formula 1 he became one of the protagonists of Formula E, racing from the inaugural season and scoring three victories before retiring from competition in 2020.

Following retirement he moved into management roles, becoming deputy team principal and then team principal of Venturi Racing in Formula E. In 2023 he joined Mercedes Formula One Team as head of driver development. In 2024 his move to Ferrari was announced, where he became Deputy Team Principal and head of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

In his private life, Jerome d’Ambrosio is married to Eleonore von Habsburg. They have two children, Otto and Zita.
