Lemarie P.

Biography of F1 driver Lemarie Patrick

Patrick Lemarié (born on 9 February 1968 in Bayonne, France) is a former French racing driver, best known for a brief Formula 1 experience during the 1994 season. His career developed mainly in the European junior categories, where he stood out for consistency and solid results.

After beginning in karting in the late 1980s, Lemarié moved to single-seaters in the early 1990s. In 1991 he competed in the French Formula 3 Championship, while between 1992 and 1993 he raced in the International Formula 3000 Championship, which at the time represented the direct stepping stone to Formula 1. It was in Formula 3000 that he achieved the most significant results of his career, culminating in the runner-up title in 1993 with the DAMS team.

His strong performances in Formula 3000 opened the door to Formula 1 in 1994, when he was signed by Larrousse to replace Érik Comas. Lemarié took part in four Grands Prix in the second half of the season but failed to qualify for the race on each occasion, due to the technical and competitive difficulties faced by the French team that year.

After his Formula 1 experience, Lemarié continued racing in endurance and touring car categories. He competed in the French Supertourisme Championship and in several endurance events, including races valid for the BPR Global GT Series and the FIA GT Championship, achieving respectable results but without further significant involvement in top-level single-seater racing.

Following his retirement from professional competition, Patrick Lemarié gradually stepped away from international top-level motorsport.
