Vesti F.

Biography of F1 driver Vesti Frederik

Frederik Vesti (Frederik Vesti Stamm), born on 13 January 2002 in Vejle (Denmark), is a Danish racing driver developed within the Mercedes Junior Programme, a protagonist in the junior formulas and also active in endurance competitions.

After his beginnings in karting, the move to single-seaters took place in Scandinavian series and then within the European context: in 2017 he was runner-up in Danish F4, while in 2018 he raced in ADAC Formula 4, finishing among the best in the overall standings. The real step forward came in 2019, when with Prema he won the Formula Regional European Championship at the first attempt, establishing himself as one of the most solid prospects of the following generation.

In 2020 he debuted in the FIA Formula 3 championship with Prema, finishing the season in fourth place with multiple wins and podiums; in 2021 he moved to ART Grand Prix, again confirming himself fourth in the standings and securing another victory, evidence of growth built on consistency, race management and one-lap speed.

The move to Formula 2 came in 2022 with ART Grand Prix, with whom he achieved his first notable results in the category. In 2023, driving for Prema, he experienced his most incisive season: he fought for the title until the final weekend and finished FIA Formula 2 2023 as runner-up, scoring six victories and remaining consistently in contention in the direct championship battle.

In parallel, Vesti entered the Mercedes environment and consolidated his experience with the team also through simulator activities and development work. In 2024 he was indicated by the team as reserve driver, a role he carried out in support of track and factory programmes; during 2025 he also took part in official free practice sessions of the World Championship, combining simulator work during race weekends and contributing to preparation activities, with attention already directed towards subsequent regulatory changes.

From 2024 he also expanded his path in endurance racing: he competed in the European Le Mans Series in LMP2 with Cool Racing and also contested Le Mans in the same class. In 2025 he entered the IMSA GTP programme with Cadillac Whelen as an endurance driver, continuing in the IMSA SportsCar Championship with the V-Series.R. For 2026, on the endurance front, his presence in the Cadillac roster for endurance races appears confirmed (with selected participations); regarding Formula 1, the last publicly verifiable status still places him within the Mercedes support driver group at the end of 2025, without official public communications modifying his role for 2026.

Off track he maintains a reserved profile: he is the son of Peter and Vivian and has two brothers, Emil and Mathias. In personal accounts, he has often underlined the importance of physical preparation and simulator work, central elements in his path within a top-level organisation such as Mercedes.
