Biography of F1 driver Drugovich Felipe

Felipe Drugovich Roncato (born on 23 May 2000 in Maring, Paran, Brazil) is a Brazilian racing driver, the protagonist of a linear and consistently competitive path through the junior formulas, culminating in the FIA Formula 2 title before becoming firmly established within the Formula 1 environment as a development driver.

After his beginnings in karting in Brazil, Drugovich moved to Europe at a young age to continue his single-seater career. In 2016 he debuted in ADAC Formula 4 with Motopark, achieving several points finishes. The following year he contested both ADAC Formula 4 and British Formula 4, confirming himself as a solid and reliable driver. In 2018 he took a further step by competing in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with Carlin, a learning season in a highly competitive context.

The real turning point came in 2019, when he tackled FIA Formula 3 with Carlin, securing two victories and finishing the season ninth overall. The results granted him access to Formula 2, a category in which he raced from 2020 to 2022. After two seasons of growth, in 2022 Drugovich dominated the championship with MP Motorsport, securing the title well in advance thanks to five victories, numerous podiums and remarkable consistency, becoming one of the most convincing champions of the modern era of the category.

Success in Formula 2 opened the doors to Formula 1: from 2023 he became part of Aston Martin’s programme as development and reserve driver. In this role he regularly took part in Friday free practice sessions, simulator work and car development programmes, accumulating valuable mileage and working closely with the technical team. Over subsequent seasons his involvement also extended to Pirelli tests and off-championship evaluation activities.

Among the curiosities, Drugovich is known for his methodical approach to simulator work and for particular attention to physical preparation, aspects that earned him high regard within the team. He speaks several languages fluently, an element that facilitates dialogue with engineers and technicians in an international context such as Formula 1.

As far as the present is concerned, the last officially verified role sees him engaged as Aston Martin reserve and development driver during the 2025 season.
