Nicolas Prost (born on 18 August 1981 in Saint-Chamond, France) is a former French racing driver, son of four-time Formula 1 World Champion Alain Prost, with a career developed primarily in endurance racing and electric single-seaters.
After an initial background outside motorsport - including engineering studies and an early focus on athletics - Prost moved into car racing relatively late. His competitive debut came in the early 2000s with touring cars and GT racing, before progressing to prototypes.
From 2007 onwards, Nicolas Prost focused his career on endurance competition. He raced in the Le Mans Series and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, gaining experience in both LMP2 and privateer LMP1 machinery. His most consistent period came with Rebellion Racing, for whom he competed regularly between 2012 and 2018 in the FIA World Endurance Championship, scoring multiple overall podiums and class victories and contributing to the team’s privateer LMP1 world titles.
Alongside endurance racing, Prost became one of the long-standing figures in Formula E. From 2014 he competed from the championship’s inaugural season, initially with e.dams Renault and later with Renault e.Dams. Over the early seasons he achieved wins and numerous podiums, playing a key role in the team’s success in the Teams’ Championship.
After stepping back from full-time competition, Nicolas Prost has remained involved in motorsport through technical consultancy and development roles, particularly in collaboration with Renault and projects linked to electric and endurance racing.
