Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Historical information

It has been part of the Formula 1 World Championship since 1951, continuously since 1986. The 2024 edition set a record of 297,368 spectators during the race weekend, beating the previous record of 284,066 spectators recorded in the 2023 edition.

The current winningest drivers on Spanish soil are Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, both with six wins, while the current most victorious team is Ferrari with 12.

Considered one of the most fun Grand Prix for drivers to drive, it has been the scene of numerous fights and incidents that have entered history, such as the one that occurred in 2016, which saw the collision and subsequent retirement of Hamilton and Rosberg, teammates and rivals for the title. The race's crackling start ended with a success that has entered F1 history: the winner of that edition was Max Verstappen, recently promoted to Red Bull, who took his first victory at just 18 years, 7 months and 15 days old.
