Hamilton in Ferrari can break a new record in his career: what it is
Time for reading: 3 minutes

The 2025 Ferrari season began with great enthusiasm, which exploded in the first days of January with the arrival of Lewis Hamilton in Maranello, confirmed by the reaction of the fans to the debut of the SF-25 in Fiorano and certified by the great warmth shown by all the Scuderia fans during the great party in Milan organized on Thursday by the Scuderia in collaboration with the new partner UniCredit. An event that saw Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton as absolute protagonists in the Lombard capital, acclaimed by thousands of people after being the authors of a road show in the area of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan and Piazza Castello.  And this great enthusiasm is leading to a frantic wait for Lewis Hamilton's first GP as a Ferrari driver: in Australia, next Sunday, a chapter in motorsport history will begin that could lead to breaking a series of records: the British driver has chosen the red car because he believes he has the best chance of winning his eighth World title, which would make him the most successful driver ever.

Hamilton, between Jim Clark and an eighth title

But this adventure, in addition to the absolute record of world championship crowns, is fueling the desire to break Ferrari's abstinence from success that has lasted since 2008. But not only that, because analyzing the F1 statistics, another historic record also emerges, which Sir Lewis will be able to try to attack during his stay in Maranello. It is the Grand Chelem record (a race weekend concluded with pole position, victory, always leading the race and winning the fastest lap: the perfect weekend), currently held by the legendary Jim Clark.  The last one achieved by the legendary Lotus driver dates back to 1965, at the German GP at the Nurburgring. Hamilton is second in this ranking and is stuck at six, having not achieved a Grand Chelem since the end of 2019.

Watch out for Verstappen

But, in addition to Clark and Lewis Hamilton, tied in third place, there are top-level drivers such as Ascari, Schumacher, Verstappen, all at five. It is interesting to note that, since F1 introduced the latest technical revolution starting from 2022, only one driver besides Verstappen has managed to obtain a Grand Chelem: Charles Leclerc, on the occasion of the triumphant 2022 Australian GP. Ferrari, in short, could be the right team for Hamilton to chase this legendary record, making him more and more of a motorsport legend.
