Spa-Francorchamps is located in Belgium, in the east, between Brussels and Luxembourg, 50 km from Liege. The nearest international airport is Brussels Zavantem, 110 km away, but there is a small airport for private aircraft 5 km from the runway.
Spa is a temporary facility, built annually on roads where people routinely circulate, under a contract that, as mentioned above, dates back to 1985, but it still has excellent infrastructure. The area in which it is located, is one of the most beautiful; in fact, the runway runs through a magnificent Ardennes forest. The climate is particularly affected by the location, and not infrequently the Belgian Grand Prix is run in “rainy” conditions. The length of the track then poses another problem. When one part of the circuit is wet, especially the part inside the forest (condensation), the other part may be perfectly dry!
