Historical information

The Manama “Sakhir” Circuit (Bahrain International Circuit) is located on the outskirts of Manama, the capital of Bahrain. Positioned in the middle of a desert, the circuit suffers from the problem of windblown sand on the track that can affect the regularity of races. To alleviate this, organizers use a special adhesive spray with which the sandy areas immediately around the track are treated.
