United States GP

Circuit

Circuit of The Americas

Historical information

The track covers 5.513 km and much of it was resurfaced in the 2024 season, completing the work begun in 2022. This includes the sections between turns 9 and 12 and 16 and 3, which then include the two longest straights where DRS can be used.

Other changes include the use of fake gravel for runoff areas in some corners, as already seen at other tracks, for example Zandvoort. This was done to alleviate the controversy that can arise if the track limits are exceeded, without the problem of real gravel being thrown onto the track.

The new road surface was also supposed to solve the problem of small bumps that have formed along the racing line over the years, making life difficult for the drivers and compromising the handling of the car.
