Just 23 days remain until the first free practice session at Madrid’s new circuit, which will host the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix at the Madring. Work is continuing at a relentless pace.
The track layout has been completed and was used for Scuderia Ferrari’s filming day; however, exclusive photographs by David Perez show that much remains to be done in terms of infrastructure.

No doubt the race will go ahead
There is no doubt that the race will go ahead and, in that respect, the historic Modena-based team’s 200km test, carried out by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc on 9 July, served as a form of reassurance from the organisers to stakeholders. At present, the circuit resembles a cathedral in the desert, which could suggest that fans may face inconvenience over the weekend. Nevertheless, the efforts of IFEMA Madrid (the promoter) deserve recognition: it laid the symbolic first stone for the new facility on 24 April last year, building the project virtually from scratch. It is proof that new rounds of the World Championship can also be hosted on the old continent through the synergy of major investors.
