A bitter awakening for Formula 1 fans: Eddie Jordan, remembered by all for founding the team that was named after him (active from 1991 to 2005), has left us; he died at the age of 76, having been battling prostate cancer for some time. In December he had publicly admitted his fight against cancer, leaving a message of hope for all those who, like him, found themselves struggling in such a tough fight: “I have cancer. Fight and do prevention.”
Making the passing known was the Irishman's family, with a post on his social media that read, “Eddie passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Cape Town in the early hours of March 20, 2025 at the age of 76, after battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer for the past 12 months.”
