Charles Pic (born on 15 February 1990 in Montelimar, France) is a former French racing driver who competed in Formula 1 during the 2012 and 2013 seasons after progressing through the main European feeder categories.

After starting in karting, Pic moved to single-seaters in 2006. In 2007 he raced in Formula Renault Campus France, remaining in the category in 2008 and achieving regular finishes. The step up came with the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, which he contested between 2009 and 2010 with Tech 1 Racing, a season in which he took one victory and finished among the championship protagonists.

In 2011 he debuted in the GP2 Series with Addax Team, immediately attracting attention thanks to victory in the Monaco Feature Race. He ended the season fourth overall and as best rookie, a result that opened the doors to Formula 1.

His Formula 1 debut came in 2012 with Marussia. In a backmarker team, Pic stood out for consistency and reliability, achieving the team’s best result of the season with 11th place at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Retained for 2013, he moved to Caterham, contesting the full season without scoring championship points, but often beating his team-mate both in races and qualifying.

After leaving Formula 1, Pic continued his career in closed-wheel racing. From 2014 he competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship with SMP Racing, racing in LMP2 and later private LMP1. Over subsequent seasons he took part in several editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieving notable class results and contributing to the team’s endurance campaign.

After retiring from active competition, Pic has remained involved in motorsport in management roles.
