Gianmaria "Gimmi" Bruni was born on 30 May 1981 in Rome (Italy). After starting in karting, he progressed through the European junior formulae before a brief spell in Formula 1.

In 2004 he made his Formula 1 debut with Minardi, contesting the entire season in a technically limited environment, without the opportunity for notable results. After leaving single-seaters, he redirected his career towards GT cars and endurance racing.

Bruni became one of the world’s reference drivers in the GT category, first with Ferrari and later with Porsche. With the Maranello manufacturer he won numerous international titles and class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, while with Porsche he added further success in the WEC and in the major endurance classics.

Regarded as one of the most successful GT drivers of his generation, Bruni remains a leading presence in endurance motorsport, valued for experience, consistency and technical development capability.
