Biography of F1 driver Bortoleto Gabriel

Gabriel Bortoleto (São Paulo, October 14, 2004) is a Brazilian racing driver. His career began in 2012, when he started racing karts in the Sulbrasileiro Championship and other national competitions. In 2018, he moved to international championships and achieved his best results: he finished third both in the European Championship and in the OKJ class World Championship, also becoming vice-champion in the WSK Super Master Series.

From 2021-2022 he competed in the various minor Formula 3 series, then debuted in 2023 with the Trident team in the official one. The Brazilian shows his talent immediately, with pole and victory in Melbourne and other important results, which allow him to become a champion.

In 2024, thanks to the support of the McLaren Young Driver Programme, he debuts in F2 with the Invicta Virtuosi Racing team. After a complicated start, the Brazilian will be the protagonist of a series of successes and podiums, becoming World Champion also in Formula 2.

His talent is closely observed by the F1 teams, with the Sauber team (which will become Audi in 2026) who decides to hire him as official driver for the coming season, alongside expert Nico Hulkenberg, leaving the McLaren family. After seven seasons, a Brazilian driver returns to the grid, who would have wanted to race with number 12 in memory of his idol, the great Ayrton Senna; however, he will use number 5, which used to belong to Sebastian Vettel; the 5 was a rather symbolic number in Formula 1. Besides the number 1, in fact, it is with the 5 that there were more world champions.
