Mick Schumacher (born on 22 March 1999 in Vufflens-le-Chateau, Switzerland) is a German racing driver, son of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher.
After a gradual progression through the junior formulas, he won the European Formula 3 title in 2018 and became Formula 2 champion in 2020, a result that opened the doors to Formula 1. He debuted in the top category in 2021 with Haas, remaining with the American team also in 2022: two technically difficult seasons, without world championship points, but useful for gaining race experience.
After concluding his experience as a race driver in Formula 1, in 2023 and 2024 he held the role of Mercedes reserve driver, taking part in tests, simulator work and development activities, maintaining a direct link with the F1 paddock. In parallel he expanded his sporting path in endurance racing.
From 2024 he has been competing in the World Endurance Championship in the Hypercar class with Alpine, also taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The move to endurance represents a significant step in his career, with the aim of establishing himself at the highest level of long-distance competition.
As regards 2026, a contractual role outside Formula 1 is confirmed: Mick Schumacher has signed an agreement to contest the entire IndyCar Series season as a full-time driver with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. The commitment includes the full championship and participation in the Indianapolis 500, marking a significant transition in his career towards American single-seaters and a new chapter after his experience in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship.
