Website: www.jolyonpalmer.com

Jolyon Carlyle Palmer (born on 20 January 1991 in horsham, West Sussex, United Kingdom) is a former British racing driver, known for his experience in Formula 1 with Renault, his GP2 Series title, and his later role as a television analyst and commentator.

The son of former Formula 1 driver Jonathan Palmer, Jolyon grew up deeply immersed in motorsport. After starting in karting, he moved into single-seaters in 2009, competing in Formula Palmer Audi and Formula 2. Between 2011 and 2013 he raced in the GP2 Series, steadily building experience and results, culminating in the 2014 GP2 championship with DAMS.

Alongside his GP2 career, Palmer joined the Renault young driver programme and in 2015 became a reserve and test driver for the French team in Formula 1. His official World Championship debut came in 2016, when he was promoted to race driver alongside Kevin Magnussen. That season he scored points, with a sixth place as his best result, contributing to Renault’s competitive return as a works team.

Palmer remained with Renault in 2017, but the season proved more difficult. Despite occasional points finishes, his relationship with the team ended prematurely and, after the Singapore Grand Prix, he was replaced by Carlos Sainz. His Formula 1 career concluded with 35 Grands Prix starts.

After leaving Formula 1, Palmer continued racing in other categories, including Formula E and later endurance racing. He competed in the World Endurance Championship in LMP2 and took part in events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

After stepping away from full-time competition, he gradually moved into media work, becoming a television analyst and commentator, a role in which he is noted for technical insight and first-hand Formula 1 experience.
